Verdant Recording Studio

Athens, Vermont | 2006

This recording studio for engineer and musician Pete Weiss resolves acoustic demands while engaging its rural context. Added to a century-old barn, the structure reinterprets the local pitched roof: a mirrored scissor truss forms east and west skylights, while the asymmetrical interior enhances sound diffusion. An open end bay frames views of the landscape and provides a rest area for musicians.
